Hamilton taken ill in China with allergy

Mercedes cancelled Lewis Hamilton's media arrangements on Thursday in China after the Briton was taken ill following an allergic reaction. The 28-year-old appeared fine on Wednesday as he carried out his commercial commitments, but according to reports on Thursday morning, he was seen with a weeping and inflamed eye because of higher than normal pollution levels in Shanghai - a common problem in the country which sees much of its population wearing masks. Hamilton was seen by a doctor and was told to rest in his hotel room to ensure he is fit for practice on Friday morning.
