Brawn targets fix for Mercedes race pace

Following the strong pace Mercedes AMG showed with their F1W04 at the Melbourne practice session, the team somewhat disappointed in the race. Team principal Ross Brawn looks forward to get this balance issue fixed quickly. Ross Brawn: 'The first race of the season provided some very encouraging signs for the team; our car performed well and seemed to be competitive in all of the conditions that the Melbourne weather gave us.' Indeed, Lewis Hamilton qualified third and Nico Rosberg in 6th place on the Australian grid, but both cars fell back a bit during the race, unable to match the pace of the cars they out-qualified.
