Bottas makes solid debut as Maldonado spins off
Williams endured a difficult weekend, one of which they has expected much more after strong winter tests. Valtteri Bottas nonetheless had a good debut and gained two placed to finish 14th in today's Australian GP. Pastor Maldonado spun off in turn 1 to end his race early.
Mike Coughlan, Technical Director: 'It was a difficult race for us. We opted to try two different strategies starting Valtteri on the supersoft option tyre and Pastor on the medium prime. In the end, I don’t think one strategy would have had a big difference in benefit over the other.
