Vettel on top as Barcelona test begins

By Editor on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 Sebastian Vettel set the fastest time on the opening morning of the second pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya. Vettel's time of 1:23.046s was set on the hard compound tyre in Barcelona. Kimi Raikkonen was second, 0.5s further back, ahead of Fernando Alonso, who got his first taste of the Ferrari F138. Fourth placed Pastor Maldonado drove the Williams FW35 for the first time and was the most productive, completing 47 laps at the circuit where he won his first race last May. The only red flag of the morning was caused by Esteban Gutierrez, who stopped at Turn 7 during a low fuel run.
