Van der Garde to race for Caterham

Dutch driver Giedo van der Garde has been announced as Caterham’s second driver alongside Charles Pic, according to Dutch media. The 27-year-old will make the step up from GP2 to make his Formula 1 race debut in Melbourne, after completing free practice sessions for the Anglo-Malaysian team in 2012. He will be the fourth rookie to make his debut this season, along with Esteban Gutiérrez, Valtteri Bottas and Max Chilton.
