Lotus: Modesty panel too heavy

Lotus Technical Director James Allison says the team will only add a 'modesty panel' onto their new E21 when they come up with a light enough solution after their new car surprisingly still featured the notorious 'boxer's' nose at its launch. The expectation was prior to the unveiling of the first 2013 challenger that the new season's cars wouldn't feature the kind of ugly slopped noses seen for the first time on last year's models after the teams agreed with the FIA the option of adding a laminate 'modesty' panel over the nose for aesthetic purposes.
