Alonso to skip Jerez test

By Editor on Thursday, January 24, 2013 Fernando Alonso will miss the first pre-season test at Jerez. The Ferrari driver, who finished second to Sebastian Vettel in 2012, will not drive the 2013 car until February 19th in Barcelona. 'Fernando Alonso will intensify his physical training, in preparation for a first part of the season which, as usual will be very demanding, both because of the long distances involved between the various Grands Prix and because of the variety of weather conditions encountered from Melbourne to Sakhir, with Sepang and Shanghai in between,' read a Ferrari statement. Felipe Massa will début the car in Jerez on February 5th, conducting three days of testing....
