Wolff leaves Williams as Mercedes restructures

Toto Wolff has relinquished his post as Williams’ executive director with immediate effect to pursue the same role at Mercedes, with the Austrian now holding shares in both the teams. Daimler, the parent company of Mercedes, has signed a letter of intent with Wolff which will allow the investor to acquire a significant minority interest in the Formula 1 team. Wolff had acquired a stake in Williams in late 2009 - which he will retain - and joined its board of directors in July last year as a member of the management. “He was a key support to me as executive director last season, deputising at a number of races when I was unable to attend,” said team principal Frank...
