V8 Supercars lose Abu Dhabi F1 slot
The V8 Supercar Championship won't run as a support race for the 2013 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix after FOM informed series organisers that there was no space for the series on the timetable.The Australian championship was the only support race for the 2012 race at Yas Marina and included a race supporting the F1 event on its 2013 calendar when it was released late last year.However, with GP2 and GP3 both competing alongside F1 in Abu Dhabi this season, the V8 race has been dropped from the weekend's schedule, a decision series CEO David Malone said he understood."It has always been clear that FOM ultimately decides, or approves, 'support' categories that run in conjunction with Formula...
