German GP likely at Nurburgring in 19-race calendar

This year’s German Grand Prix is likely to be held at the Nurburgring despite the circuit’s financial difficulties, which have threatened the future of the facility. Hockenheim, which hosted the event last season, alternates the German GP with the Nurburgring every year but the former had stepped to serve as a replacement for the 2013 calendar if needed. 'It should be the Nurburgring and we are trying to make it happen,' Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone told Reuters. The 82-year-old also clarified that this season will feature only 19 races with the unspecified European race on July 21 likely to be scrapped.
