Mark Gillan decides to leave Williams F1 Team

Mark Gillan, who acted as Chief Operations Engineer at Williams, has opted to leave the team ahead of the 2013 Formula 1 season. The 44-year-old is hoping to dedicate more time to his family after spending just over one year at the Grove-based outfit. Gillan, a former employee of McLaren, Jaguar, Red Bull and Toyota, played a key role in the resurgence of Williams following the team's torrid 2011 campaign. After scoring just five points in the aforementioned season, the team made a significant step forward in 2012 by picking up its first victory since 2004 and recording a further 14 top ten finishes.
