Red Bull Ring put forward as 2013 venue

Red Bull have confirmed that they have contacted the FIA to make them aware that they would be willing to host a round of the 2013 championship at the Red Bull Ring. The circuit, formerly the A1-Ring, was purchased by Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz who redeveloped it into the Red Bull Ring. It was reopened in 2011 and hosted a round of the DTM series. Red Bull's motorsport advisor Helmut Marko confirmed he had made contact with the governing body about hosting a race. "We made the FIA aware of the fact that there is the Red Bull Ring and it holds a full grade F1 licence," said the Austrian.
