Formula 2 cancelled for 2013

Formula 2 existed for four seasons from 2009 to 2012 Sutton Images Enlarge The promoters of Formula 2 have decided not to run the series in 2013 after completing just four years of their five-year contract with the FIA. The one-make series was launched in its current form in 2009 by MotorSport Vision (MSV) as a low-cost alternative to other feeder series. However, after four years of competition, MSV chief executive Jonathan Palmer said the series would not continue in 2013. "Despite launching the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2009 at the start of this major global recession it has performed well with good grids and very competitive racing over the past four years," Palmer said...
