Turkish return up to the government

Whether or not the Turkish Grand Prix returns to the Formula One calendar seems now to be in the hands of the country's government. Istanbul Park circuit operator Vural Ak has met with Bernie Ecclestone and the pair are said to have struck a deal to bring F1 back to the venue which hosted a grand prix from 2005 to 2011. However, the final stamp of approval must be given by the Turkish government. "We are making every effort so that Formula 1 races can be held at our Istanbul Park track... [in 2013] and in future years," TOSFED chairman Demire Berberoglu said in a statement. "Everybody knows that what is needed for its presence in the Formula 1 race calendar for 2013...
