Austin seeking new date on 2013 calendar

The organisers of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, are hoping they can agree a new date for the 2013 event in order to avoid an American football fixture also being hosted in the city. The race is scheduled to take place on November 17th following the publication of the provisional calendar, but the organisers are keen to move it a week either side to avoid the University match which is expected to attract up to 100,000 fans on the Saturday. Combined with the estimated 80,000 plus fans expected during qualifying and more on Sunday, city officials believe the transport system could crack under the pressure. Circuit chairman Bobby Epstein says the situation isn't ideal....
