2013 calender changed to accommodate 20 races

The 19-race calendar for the 2013 Formula 1 season was tweaked by motorsport’s governing body to provision it for the likelihood of an additional Grand Prix next year. Originally scheduled on July 14, the German Grand Prix has been moved to July 7 and will be clubbed with the British GP as back-to-back events. The FIA reserved July 21 “for another F1 European event” subject to approval, in a decision at the World Motor Sport Council’s (WMSC) final meeting of the year on Friday in Istanbul. It is speculated that the Turkish GP, which was last held in 2011, could fill in the slot provided the organisers are able to pay the required fees.
