1996 world champion Damon Hill rejoins Williams as ambassador
Williams has announced that 1996 Formula 1 World Champion Damon Hill is returning to the Grove-based squad as an ambassador, marking a symbolic reunion in the 30th anniversary year of his title triumph. Hill joins an already impressive ambassadorial roster that includes 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve and three-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick. Hill remains one of the most recognisable and influential figures in British motorsport, having played a central role in one of the most successful eras in Williams’ history. After two seasons as the team’s test and reserve driver, he was promoted to a race seat in 1993, taking his maiden Grand Prix victory in Hungary that same year....
